Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Zansat Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Dataworld ("Dataworld," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our website (www.dataworld.live), our data value estimate, our electronic NDA signing, our listing, data request, referral and partner forms, our marketplace, and our related services (collectively, the "Services"). For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "you" and "your" means you as the user of the Services, whether an individual or an entity.
Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to data that sellers license to buyers through the Services (for example, email, chat, CRM, support, code, call recording or document data that is the subject of a deal). That data is governed by the nondisclosure agreement and the written license for each deal and, where we process personal data in it on a seller's behalf, by a data processing addendum signed for that deal. To learn how such data was collected, used, and disclosed, please contact the relevant seller.
At Dataworld, we believe that you are in control of your information, and we are committed to privacy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using any of the Services, you acknowledge the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use or access the Services.
1. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, in which case we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes to how we use or disclose information we collect, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you (such as by emailing you at the last email address you provided us, by posting notice of such changes on the Services, or by other means consistent with applicable law) and will take additional steps as required by applicable law. If you do not agree to any updates to this Privacy Policy, please do not continue using or accessing the Services.
2. Collection and use of information
When you use or access the Services, we collect certain categories of information about you from a variety of sources.
Information you provide to us
Some features of the Services require you to directly provide certain information about yourself. You may elect not to provide this information, but doing so may prevent you from using those features. Information that you directly submit through our Services includes:
- Contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number, job title or role, and your company's name, website and other company details. We use this information to respond to you, provide the Services, and communicate with you (including to tell you about deals, buyers or services that may be of interest to you).
- Estimate answers, such as the types, volumes, age and sources of the data your company holds, given when you use our data value estimate. We use this information to prepare your estimate and to follow up with you.
- Inventory answers, such as information about your company's systems, data, and permissions that you give us on or after an inventory call. The inventory form saves your answers to our servers as you go, including answers you haven't sent yet, so you can pick up where you left off. We use this information to assess whether and how your data could be licensed and to match you with buyers.
- NDA signature records, such as the signer's name and title, the company or organisation named, the version of the agreement signed, and the date, time and IP address of signing. We use this information to form, record and evidence the agreement.
- Listing content, such as the description of a dataset you ask us to list. We use this information to review your listing and, once reviewed, to show it on our public marketplace and describe it to prospective buyers, as described in our Terms of Use.
- Buyer enquiries, such as the data you are looking for, your intended use, timing and budget. We use this information to respond to you and to find matching data.
- Referral and partner details, such as the name, company and contact details of a company or person you refer to us, your relationship with them, and, if you apply as a partner, details about your firm. We use this information to contact the referred company about selling data, to track and credit your referral, and to manage the partner program.
- Payout and tax information, such as bank or payment details and tax forms, if you are due a referral or partner fee. We use this information to pay you and to meet our legal obligations.
- Any other information you choose to include in communications with us, for example, when you email us or speak with us on a call.
Information collected automatically
We automatically collect certain information about your interactions with the Services. We collect and use this information to operate the Services, credit partners and referrers, prevent spam and abuse of our forms, and understand which pages and campaigns are useful. Such information includes:
- Attribution information, such as the page you submitted a form from, the site that referred you, and campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm parameters).
- Device and log information recorded by our servers, such as your IP address, browser type, and date and time stamps.
We do not use advertising cookies. Instead, we store a few small items in your browser's local and session storage: a random visitor identifier; the partner credit for a partner's link you followed, for up to 90 days; answers to forms you have started, so you don't lose them on reload; and a record that you have signed our NDA. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings; doing so may cause some features of the Services, such as saved form answers and partner credit, to work incorrectly. Your browser settings may also allow you to transmit a "Do Not Track" signal when you visit various websites. Like many websites, our website is not designed to respond to "Do Not Track" signals received from browsers.
Information collected from other sources
We may obtain information about you from outside sources, including information that we collect directly from third parties and information from third parties that you choose to share with us. Such information includes:
- Analytics data from Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service that sets no cookies. Umami gives us totals, such as pages visited, the site you came from, country and device type, and counts of completed forms. We use this data to improve our website, communications, and the Services.
- Information from partners and referrers who introduce your company to us, such as your name, company and contact details. We use this information to contact you about the Services and to credit the referral.
Any information we receive from outside sources will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the accuracy of the information provided to us by third parties and are not responsible for any third party's policies or practices. For more information, see the section below, Third-party websites and links.
3. Disclosure of your information
We do not sell the personal information you submit through the Services, and we do not use it to train models. We may disclose your information for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy, including to the following categories of third parties:
- Vendors or other service providers who help us provide the Services, including for hosting, database and backup storage, and web analytics, under contracts that limit their use of it. Our website, database and backups are hosted by Railway in the United States, and we use Umami for analytics.
- Partners and referrers, when you came to us through their link or introduction, limited to whether you became a lead, whether a deal closed and the information needed to calculate their fee, and, if you agree, your company's name.
- Prospective counterparties in a deal, such as a buyer evaluating a seller's data or a seller considering a buyer's request, only as you agree and as described in the applicable nondisclosure agreement. We do not name a seller to buyers without the seller's consent.
- Third parties to whom you request or direct us to disclose information.
- Professional advisors, such as auditors, law firms, or accounting firms.
- Third parties in connection with or anticipation of an asset sale, merger, bankruptcy, or other business transaction.
We may also disclose your information as needed to comply with applicable law or any obligations thereunder or to cooperate with law enforcement, judicial orders, and regulatory inquiries, to enforce any applicable terms or agreements, and to ensure the safety and security of our business, employees, and users.
4. Third-party websites and links
We may provide links to third-party websites or platforms. If you follow links to sites or platforms that we do not control and are not affiliated with us, you should review the applicable privacy notice, policies and other terms. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of, or information found on, these sites or platforms. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, such as third-party social networking platforms, may also be viewable by other users of those platforms without limitation as to its use. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators.
5. Information about data you may license
When you use the Services as a seller, you tell us about data your company holds, for example in estimate answers, inventory answers and listings. We treat this information as confidential under our nondisclosure agreement with you and will only use it to:
- Provide the Services to you, including preparing estimates and matching you with buyers;
- Describe your data to prospective buyers in a form that does not identify your company, unless you agree otherwise, and show listings you ask us to publish;
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations; and
- As otherwise specified in our agreements with you.
The data itself is licensed only under a separate written agreement you approve for each deal.
6. Data security and retention
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, despite our reasonable efforts to protect your information, no security measures are impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." Any information you send to us electronically, while using the Services or otherwise interacting with us, may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to send us sensitive or confidential information.
We retain your information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy. When determining the length of time to retain your information, we consider various criteria, including whether we need the information to continue to provide you the Services, to evidence an agreement you signed (such as NDA signature records), to calculate and pay referral fees, resolve a dispute, enforce our contractual agreements, prevent harm, promote safety, security and integrity, or protect ourselves, including our rights, property or products. Information about leads with whom no deal proceeds is kept for a reasonable period after our discussions end and then deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
7. Data transfer
We are based in the United States, and our Services are hosted in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to the United States, which may have different data protection laws from those of your country of residence. When we do so, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information and comply with applicable legal requirements.
8. Children's privacy
Our Services are not intended for children, and we do not seek or knowingly collect any personal information about children. If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected information about a child, in particular any child under 13 years of age, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to delete such information from our database. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the below information to request that it be deleted.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include:
- Right to Access: You may have the right to request information about how we process your personal information and to obtain a copy of that information.
- Right to Rectification: You may have the right to request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information about you.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") may provide you with additional rights regarding our use of your personal information. These include:
- Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months.
